Are You An Egghead are looking for 32 fantastic new contestants to battle it out in order to join their resident quiz show Goliaths and become a full time Egghead!
Are you An Egghead? on BBC2 is a spin off show from the hit BBC series ‘Eggheads’ (which has been running for nine years and is currently in its 13th series). Are You An Egghead? is hosted by Dermot Murnaghan and is a nationwide search to find a contestant who is good enough to join the Eggheads as a permanent member of their team.
The Eggheads are 6 of the UK’s greatest Quiz Show Champions:
Judith Keppel: First person to ever win a million pounds on ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ in 2000.
Kevin Ashman: 3 times World Quiz Champion. (He also has the highest ever score on Mastermind with no passes). 8 times British Quiz champion, Euro Quiz Champion 3 time, Brain of Britain winner 1996.
C.J De Mooi: Winner of Beat the Nation 2002 and Weakest Link winner 2000, Mensa Chess Champion.
Daphne Fowler: Last woman to win the ‘Brain of Britain’ title and has won the Grand Final of 15 to 1 twice, as well as holding the highest score of all time for the show with 432 out of 433 questions answered correctly.

Barry Simmons: Winner of the first series of Are You An Egghead? Won £64,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Brain of Britain Semi Finalist 2000.
In every Egghead Quiz show there are 5 individual question rounds, in which each player (2 players per show) is asked up to three multiple choice questions each on subjects such as Sport, Entertainment, Food and Drink, Arts and Books, Politics, History, Geography or Science.
The winner of each round gets to choose an Egghead to assist them in the final General Knowledge Round. The more category rounds a player wins the more Eggheads they have to call upon for assistance in the final round.
The winner of each show will move into the next heat. With the series concluding in a grand final and the winner of this will become an Egghead!
The makers of Are You An Egghead are looking for fun and enthusiastic individuals who think they have what it takes to become an Egghead. Anyone and everyone can apply for the show - You don’t even need to have won any TV quizzes in the past, just have a good breadth of general knowledge. Perhaps you are reigning champion in your local pub quiz or are renowned amongst friends for your vast general knowledge?
